Jeffrey T. Richelson received his PhD in political science from the University of Rochester. Hmmm. It depends on what you need from it... Not exactly a comprehensive textbook, more of a semi-comprehensive lay down of the major intel organizations, their functions, roles, and relationships. A solid reference book.

5Th edition not so good.

It was not as good as the earlier versions.
It contained too many personnel flow charts and not enough interesting information as previous editions had.
Richelson's sources have probably dried up and this is all he can provide to the tax paying public.
