This novel (my third) presented me with a big challenge because it takes place in an era far removed from the present time. It is my hope that I was able to successfully capture the mood of the day in the story. If so, I owe a debt of gratitude to the infamous duo, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, for helping to flame my imagination.

His best so far!

I have read all of Patrick Dakin's books and have enjoyed all three. This, to me, is his best work so far. Great character development and great use of weaving historical events into this work of fiction. You can't decide whether you should love or hate the main character! Highly recommended!
Can't wait for his next book!

Didn't want to put the book down

Thoroughly enjoyed the book. Felt like I was there and Mr. Dakin was able to keep all the characters and their stories separate and interesting at the same time. Very well written and once I started I didn't want to put the book down. Looking to read more from Pat.

Highly recommend.

I have just read my first novel written by Patrick Dakin, not knowing what to expect and based
upon the reviews of his other novels, I decided to try this one.
I have to say that I was not disappointed whatsoever. It is well written and a great story from
start to finish. I am now going to start on another of Mr.Dakin's novels.
