Fantastic, clean romance!

It's been a while since I read this book, but I remember loving the story! This was the first "clean" romance I'd read, and I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. I mean, what's a romance novel without the sexy stuff, right? To my surprise, Rebecca Winters created a sweet story, focusing more on the love and relationship development between a man and woman, that was both believable and highly entertaining. I didn't miss the explicit stuff at all and found this to be a satisfying tale of romance, one that I have recommended to my friends/family. I also found another author to add to my "must read" list!

Not Quite a Cinderella Story

Alexandra (Alex) Grigory is the daughter of a six-times married, Hollywood Screen Star who died leaving an estate twelve million dollars in debt. Hoping to sell her mother's jewelry collection to pay off the debts Alex takes the collection of a prominent New York jewelry house to be appraised and sold. To her great dismay she learns the entire collection is paste and of little value. She creates a scene as she demands a second opinion. Crown Prince Lucca Vittorio, whose family owns the jewelry house, observes everything from the security control room and immediately jumps to the rescue of the beleaguered appraiser. Thus our protagonists first come face to face. We learn that Lucca is under great pressure to marry and assume the throne within the next month due to his father's failing health.
What follows stretches my believability index to the breaking point. Within only a few hours of their initial in-your-face confrontation Alex and Lucca have agreed to a marriage of convenience and are on Lucca's private jet en-route to the Kingdom of Castelmare on the Mediterranean. Even the enormous talent of Ms. Winters is insufficient to make this feat believable.
Ignoring this single gaff, the remainder of the story is an absolute delight. I loved the fact that this is a clean romance. The characters have character, honor, and integrity. The situations are true to life with touches of humor, although the repeated "he doesn't love me" lament from Alex is just a little over done. On balance, this is a fun read and rates four stars.

Quick Read, Quick Story!

Another marriage of convenience story but set in modern times which I found unusual. I enjoyed the book for a quick read but I felt it almost felt like a fantasy rather than a romance and would never really happen in real life. Maybe if they had not fallen in love so fast, I would have believed it more. The entire story takes place in less than a month's time.
